Lira | The game between the two finalists – Dynamic FC and Rhino Oil FC played in Lira Primary School playground on Wednesday ended in a draw.
A penalty shootout separated the two teams with Dynamics FC winking 6:5.
The third position was taken by Kakoge City Hunters FC after beating Amuca 1-0 in the playoff.
The tournament returned after 5 years with more than 7 teams taking part one week before finals.
Among the teams that registered for the tournament were Rhino Oil FC, LCC FC, Dynamic FC, Supper Select FC; Amac FC Down Town FC, Lira City Rangers FC, and Timber Yard FC.
A section of political leaders and their representatives made cash contributions. Lira City Council Mayor Sam Atul was the Guest of honour during the finals.
Betty Amongi Ongom, MP of Oyam South contributed shs600,000 through her aide. Similarly, Lira City woman MP, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng donated shs500,000.
Dr Aceng’s cash was delivered by her political aide Jane Opolot, a councillor for Ipitoaweno/Blue Corner to Lira City Council.
The City Mayor Atul also supported the teams with shs100,000.
Dan Ogole, City sports officer said the tournament was to expose talents and entertainment.
He requested the City Mayor and Council to allocate some budget from the Ministry of Education and Sports to support community sports besides school sports.
In his response, the Mayor urged the City sports officer to have a list of clubs for presentations in the Council for easy budgeting.
The following categories were awarded.
1 – Dynamic FC, Trophy plus shs500k
2 – Rhino Oli FC, shs300k
3- Kakoge City FC, shs200k
4- Amuca FC, shs100k.

- Best goalkeeper, Ocena Joshua from City Rangers FC
- Fair play, Andrew Charles from Down Town FC.
- The most valuable player, Opio Daniel from Rhino Oil FC.
- Top scorer, Bob Omara from Dynamic FC.
