Aboke town council CDO Lucy Ejura remanded for 40 days

Kole | On March 15, in the afternoon, the State House Anti Corruption Unit together with the Criminal Investigations Department arrested and presented before Court Aciro Lucy Ejura.

Aciro is a Community Development Officer (CDo) of Aboke Town Council in Kole district.

She appeared before the Kole Magistrates Court on charges of obtaining money by false pretence.

The accused, according to the State House anti-graft body, obtained over shs 13 million from various women groups in Kole district under the Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme (UWEP).

These include Oryem Can, Obanga Akica, Okole, and Aparango Womens’ groups.

“She claimed to help the groups bank the money but ended up diverting it for personal use. She has been remanded until 24/ 04/ 2024.”
