Andrew Moses Awany, he said, was driving a motor vehicle registration number LG0061 058 (Toyota Mazda BT-50 4×4 Silver in colour).

“….. travelling from Lira City heading to Kole district on reaching Apii Trading Centre along Lira-Kamdini highway, he lost control and the vehicle overturned,” said Okema.

By the time SP Okema released a statement, Awany, he revealed, was out of danger and being attended to by the medics.

DK Odongo, chairman of all the LC5 chairpersons in Lango on Saturday called for calm – after some reports emerged that their member (Awany) had passed on.

“… we need to pray for him because it’s the same area his brother got a road crash (accident) (a year ago) and died,” DK, also the Alebtong LC5 chairperson, recalled.

He implored the people of Lango who drive to avoid driving when drunk.

Although all reports and signs indicate he’s healing faster, tndNews could not hear directly from Awany by press time.
