Pakwach leaders heed President’s guidance on Covid-19 with tougher directives to populace

MTN, banks and radio stations are also warned in the latest directives issued on Friday, December 9, 2022.


Pakwach – December 9, 2022: The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Pakwach district in West Nile sub-region, Paul Eseru has issued a directive to members of the public, including employees and employers in the district.

Eseru, recalling a directive made by President Museveni Kaguta on December 2, in which he issued strict scientific directives aimed at preventing the resurgence and flare up of new Covid-19 infections in the country, says on Friday December 9, that “these directives” have since then been adopted and implemented with immediate effect.

“To this end, Pakwach District Covid -19 task force team wishes to inform the general public and the people of Pakwach that the following directives have been implemented and taken immediate effect.” For emphasis, below are the directives, he added, in a letter issued Friday.

According to RDC Eseru and his team, all staff and employees of Pakwach district local government, corporate organizations, NGOs and lower local governments MUST submit colored copies of their Covid-19 Vaccination Certificates to office of the Chief Administrative Officer, employers, Ssub county chiefs and health centre in-charges respectively, with minimum delays.

These corporations include Pakwach FM, Stanbic bank, MTN Offices, Post Bank, Feat Africa, Joyodi, JDF, Paired, Pacego, Petrol Stations, and Guest houses among others.

Two, all employers, bosses, accounting officers are directed to file copies of the vaccination certificates and be ready to present them to the Security team that will be moving around from next week to enforce full compliance.

Anybody who dares to forge a Vaccination Certificate will be arrested immediately, they have resolved.

The task force team also resolved that no formal meeting should ever take place without members presenting to the organizers Covid-19 Certificates. All organizers must notify the office of RDC of any intending meetings within the district.

All members attending any meetings must wear masks properly and correctly. Nobody/visitor should dare waste time coming to Pakwach district public & private offices without a vaccination card.

Soft copies of the Covid-19 Vaccination cards and Negative PCR tests within 24-hours may be accepted in meantime for one to access services in Pakwach District.

Individuals with symptoms of Corona-virus should stay very far away from the public. Please stay in your home and never risk coming to crowded places as Handshakes and hugging remain Prohibited.

All persons must ensure that they get all the vaccination doses including booster dose that is given after every six months.

“Should you risk going against any of the above directives, you will be doing it at your own peril, embarrassments including arrests,” warns Eseru.
