Kinshasa, August 6, 2022: On Thursday, August 4, 2022, the Palace of the Nation received four new ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary accredited to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Alberto Petrangeli was the first to present his credentials, as the new Italian ambassador in DRC. He was Deputy Head of Mission of the Italian embassy in Tirana (Albania) and Kabul (Afghanistan).
A former member of the Italian army and a researcher, he replaces Ambassador Luca Atanasio, an official statement from the office of the president says.
The statement also reads that the new Ambassador of Burundi to the DRC, Mwamba Ntirampeba Agricole, comes into office at a time when Kinshasa and Kitega are determined to revitalize and consolidate their bilateral relationship in the agricultural, security and energy sectors.

The Republic of Zambia will now be represented by Ambassador Kosita Paulu. The 47-year-old Zambian ambassador was a director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lusaka.
Ambassador Chasper Sarott will represent the Swiss Confederation. Mr. Sarott served as Deputy Chief of Mission in Warsaw from August 2017. Since 2019, he then served as Head of Mission in Antananarivo.
