Kampala – 21, December 2021: Ugandans have embraced Covid-19 vaccinations amidst low intakes in the recent months. The Ministry of Health, On Tuesday 21, released an update on activities done on 18, December.
As per the Tuesday release, statistics show 10,121,220 have been vaccinated. The country has also tested 2,072,325 people since 2019.
On December 18, no death was reported. However, 3,274 have died of the pandemic since 2019. The Ministry of Health’s latest data is showing that 357 new cases were recorded, pushing the national test positivity rate (TPR) to 5.9, from 4% in few days.
Uganda’s cumulative cases now stand at 129,676, and only 85 are currently on admission at different health facilities across the country.
Kampala and Wakiso continue to top the list with infections surging. Of the 357 new cases, 344 were alerts and contacts from: Wakiso (153), Kampala (129), Tororo (37), Kalaki (4), Arua (1), Busia (1), Amuru (4), Kyotera (14), Kabale (1).
Thirteen truckers from, Kyotera (12) and (1) from Tororo tested positive.
