Uganda’s DIGP Maj. Gen. Paul Lokech is dead
Kampala—21, August 2021: The Uganda’s Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Maj. Gen. Paul Lokech has died. According to the Uganda People’s Defence Force’s statement, he died on Saturday.
‘’UPDF fraternity regrets to announce the passing on of the Deputy Inspector General of Police Maj Gen Paul Lokech. May His Soul Rest In Eternal Peace,’’ office of the UPDF Spokesperson wrote on Twitter.
Also, according to Police, their boss suddenly passed on from his home this morning.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Martin Okoth Ochola said: ‘’I have tasked the Director of Medical Services, Dr Moses Byaruhanga, to carry out postmortem to establish the cause of death.’’
On 16, December 2020, the former commandant of the Uganda Rapid Deployment Capability Centre in Jinja took over the DIGP role after his appointment by President Museveni.
According to unconfirmed reports, he died because of “blood clot”.
