Museveni promotes late Lokech to Lt. General
Pader – 27, August 2021: In his letter read by Maj. Gen. Kahinda Ottafire, Minister of Internal Affairs on Friday, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta T. Museveni eulogized the fallen (former) Police chief, recalling how he defeated Alshabab in Somalia.
The deputy Inspector General of Police, Paul Lokech died at the rank of Maj. Gen.
At his sendoff Friday in Pader, Museveni promoted him to Lt. Gen.
Lokech died on Saturday, 21 August from his house in Kira municipality, Wakiso district due to “blood clot”.
He was popularly known as “Lion of Moghadisu” after he defeated Alshabab.
He had spent eight months as the second in command of the Police Force. During his short time, many said he “cleaned the weevils in the force”.
On 16 December 2020, he was appointed by Museveni to replace Muzey Sabiti.
