Kampala—August 16, 2020: The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party national chairman has Sunday afternoon ‘blessed’ bicycles to be dispatched to village leaders across the country.
The NRM topmost leader, Gen. Museveni, was accompanied by his wife, Frist Lady Janet Kataha Museveni to NRM national secretariat in Kampala.
The 68,700 yellow bicycles will be given to all Local Council 1 chairpersons (village leaders) across the country.
“The NRM Chairperson, President Museveni has today launched the Yellow Bicycles for the NRM village Chairpersons in all the 68,700 villages,” State Minister for ICT & NG, Hon. Peter Ogwang says, via Twitter.
TND News has equally learnt that the Ministry of Local Government has received funds to procure bicycles and motorcycles for all LC1 and LC3 Chairpersons, respectively.

According to a source in the Ministry, procurement processes have begun for the planned bicycles and motorcycles.
Museveni buys home at shs6.9b
According to ‘State-owned’ New Vision, President Museveni has bought a new home for NRM party worth shs6.9b.
“Through fundraising, I was able to get $1.9m (around shs6.9b) to pay off the Indian who used to own this place,” New Vision reported.
According to Mr Museveni, he
started planning (fundraising) for NRM party 50 years ago.
