Amuru: 7 contacts test positive for coronavirus on Saturday

National—5, July 2020: On Saturday 4, July 2020, twelve new Covid-19 cases were confirmed out of 2,103 samples tested same day.

The cumulative total confirmed cases of Uganda are now 939, the Ministry of Health confirms.

Two of the confirmed cases are truck drivers from Malaba and Mutukula, while seven were contacts from Amuru district.

“Three 3 returnees; one from South Africa and two from DRC also tested positive.”

According to the Ministry, eleven foreign truck drivers tested positive for Covid-19 at the border points of entry and their entry into the country was not permitted.

“Active cases on admission: 197 (167 Ugandans, 25 foreigners and 5 refugees),” adds the Ministry, via Twitter on Sunday morning.

Total recoveries are now 891 (Includes both Ugandans and Foreigners).

On Saturday, 1,240 samples from Points of Entry were tested, and 863 samples from alerts and contacts
