London – On Tuesday 19th November, 2019, Lira University Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Okaka Opio Dokotum met at least two high profile diplomats in London.
This was at the side-line of a high profile International Cultural Relations Research meeting he attended at the British Council.
One of the diplomats who hosted him and soon discussing matters of bilateral partnership was His Excellency, Julius Peter Moto – Uganda’s Ambassador in London
“Today I was privileged to host the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Lira University Assoc. Prof. Okaka Opio Dokotum who is in London for a high profile International Cultural Relations Research meeting at the British Council,” Mr Moto told TND News, Tuesday.

He added: “We discussed bilateral issues of partnerships for the benefit of Lira University.”
On the same day, Prof. Dokotum met with the Assistant Secretary – General, Commonwealth Secretariat, Mr Nabeel Goheer at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London.
He was accompanied by the Ugandan High Commissioner H.E. Julius Peter Moto. The trio also discussed matters of bilateral relations aimed at supporting Lira University.
“I had a follow up meeting with the Head Innovations and Partnership Strategy at the Commonwealth Secretariat, Mr. Abhik Sen. We discussed looping Lira University students and staff to the Commonwealth Innovations Hub,” Prof Okaka told TND News on Wednesday, from London.

The DVC also visited guys and St. Thomas’ Teaching Hospital affiliated with Kings College University.

Mr Okaka met Associate Prof. Eugene Oteng-Ntim who’s also a Consult Obstetrician originally from Ghana, describing him as a “gentleman”.
According to Professor Dokotum, they discussed possibilities of wide ranging partnership between guys and St. Thomas’ Teaching Hospital and Lira University Teaching Hospital.
He also met another lady, Ms Florence Awichi, a senior Midwife at St. Thomas’ Teaching Hospital and a born of Oyam district.
