The Lower Shabelle Governor, Mohamed Ibrahim Barre, thanked UPDF and ATMIS forces for supporting medical care, security, and mentoring local forces.

Uganda has both Police and UPDF personnel in Somalia under ATMIS to protect the Somali and their property.

The Ministerial Session was attended by the Chiefs of Defence/Staff of Troop contributing countries and delegates from Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Ambassadors and representatives from the African Union, United Nations Support Office in Somalia, among others.
The meeting has attracted delegates from countries like Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Ambassadors and representatives from the African Union, United Nations Support Office in Somalia and IGAD.
Proceeding the Extra Ordinary Summit will be the meeting of the Chief of Defence Forces, Permanent Secretaries and the Ministerial Session tomorrow of the ATMIS TCCs and Somalia due 25th and 26th April 2023 respectively.
