Ugandan musician and President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) Eddy Kenzo has spoken about his relationship with fellow artist Bebe Cool, claiming that the singer does not remain in spaces where he feels he is not benefiting.

Eddy Kenzo made the remarks while discussing the differences between him and Bebe Cool, one of Uganda’s most celebrated musicians with a long career in the entertainment industry.

According to Kenzo, Bebe Cool has always been someone who carefully considers his position and involvement in organisations, saying that he does not stay in places where he feels he is not gaining from the arrangement.

“Bebe Cool doesn’t stay where he doesn’t benefit,” Kenzo said while explaining his views about their working relationship.

Kenzo also referred to their time in the Uganda National Musicians Federation, where Bebe Cool was appointed to serve in a leadership position responsible for finance matters.

He claimed that despite being given the finance role, Bebe Cool was uncomfortable with the leadership structure where Kenzo was heading the federation.

“Even in the Federation, he was appointed to handle Finance, but he didn’t want me to lead him,” Kenzo said.

The comments have reignited discussions about the relationship between two of Uganda’s biggest music personalities, whose careers have often attracted public attention.

Eddy Kenzo and Bebe Cool have both played influential roles in shaping Uganda’s music industry, although they have sometimes held different views on leadership and industry matters.
