The Electoral Commission (EC), led by Chairperson Justice Byabakama Mugenyi Simon, has received the first batch of 60,000 Biometric Voter Verification Kits (BVVKs).
The kits arrived in the country via Entebbe International Airport last night.
Ugandans will head to different polling stations on January 15, 2026, to elect their new President and Members of Parliament.
At the polling stations, each will be biometrically verified before he or she is given a ballot paper.
On several occasions, the EC has promised free, fair, credible and transparent elections amid doubts that the Commission has never been fair in the past elections.
