Amolatar district recognizes PDM beneficiary vetting process in 3rd phase

Amolatar | On May 15, 2025, the Amolatar town council held an important meeting to recognize the progress of vetting groups for the third phase of Parish Development Model (PDM) beneficiaries.

Local government officials and leaders of the PDM Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization (SACCO) highlighted significant financial disbursements across various sub-counties aimed at empowering residents.

During the meeting, it was confirmed that significant funds had been deposited into the accounts of various wards.

Amirimiri ward received shs51,900,000; Inomo received shs50,400,000; Aburkot received shs51,400,000; and Epyel received shs51,900,000.

Apalepee Ward has received shs50,400,000.

Kala Teddy Ojok, the focal point person for PDM in Amolatar, praised the female beneficiaries for their responsible use of the funds and encouraged all recipients to invest wisely to improve their livelihoods.

She urged them to be against domestic violence.

Mrs Ojok stressed the importance of integrity within the SACCO leadership, cautioning them against soliciting funds from PDM beneficiaries, emphasizing that the assistance provided is fully complimentary.

The NRM administrative secretary for Amolatar who also doubles as Assistant Resident District Commissioner, Ogonya Bonniface also spoke during the meeting, emphasizing the need for Local Council One (LC1 offices) to thoroughly verify the list of beneficiaries to ensure only eligible individuals access the funds.

He explicitly warned SACCO leaders against involving mobile money operators in transactions with beneficiaries, advising them to rely on traditional banking services instead.

Another Assistant RDC of Amolatar, Sarah Tyan, expressed gratitude on behalf of the district for President Museveni’s contributions to funding development initiatives, encouraging beneficiaries to make good use of the resources provided.

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Paul Samuel Mpiiwa, reiterated strict guidelines for technical staff and parish chiefs, warning against any attempt to collect funds from beneficiaries.

He emphasized his commitment to ensuring that the program’s third year benefits the intended individuals, despite the challenges encountered in previous phases.

The CAO emphasized the need for all beneficiaries to use funds responsibly.

The meeting underscored the commitment of Amolatar district’s leadership to uphold transparency and accountability in the distribution of PDM funds, ensuring they reach the hands of those they are intended to support.

Beneficiaries were encouraged to utilize the funds wisely, thereby contributing to their own welfare and the overall development of their communities.
