Oyam | Jane Frances Acilo received a warm welcome and support on Tuesday, April 1, when she visited Alidi, Loro, and Loro town council in Oyam South.
Hundreds of residents showed Acilo and her team love. The welcome was massive and encouraging.
Acilo, who has expressed interest in becoming the Oyam district’s woman MP in 2026, has chosen to empower farmers, support education for underprivileged families (children), and improve the district’s road networks.
Dozens of farmers received maize seeds at the Tuesday meeting, and they all expressed gratitude to Acilo for her continued generosity.
“This initiative isn’t just about giving out seeds,” Acilo, the founder and director of Abja Farms Ltd, located in Myene sub-county, said.
She added: “It’s about sharing knowledge, building capacity, and ensuring a fruitful season for every household.”

Jane distributed maize seeds worth shs10 million to women, as well as shs1 million in cash, during the Oyam district’s belated Women’s Day celebrations at Kamdini Primary School late last month.
That was the day she launched the distribution, which she said would cover the 16 sub-counties in Oyam.
As a staunch NRM party member, she has received overwhelming support from his party’s structures since expressing an interest in becoming the next woman MP.
There are high hopes that she will win the party primary election and carry the yellow flag in the MP seat contest.
She held a high-level meeting with Gen Salim Saleh, the national coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), in which they discussed political and agricultural empowerment for the people of Oyam.

Many sees her as the “next concrete lobbyist” with both local, regional and international experience.
“She has great networks across and can be useful for the people of Oyam,” said one of Lango’s former opposition MPs.
