Museveni to attend Magufuli’s burial – Tz says

Mr Magufuli died on Wednesday (nearly a fortnight now) and tributes were paid to him across the East African nations, including from the African continent leaders.

Kampala – 26, March 2021: President Museveni has left for Tanzania to attend the burial of the fallen president John Pombe Joseph Magufuli.

The 5th president, Mr Magufuli died on Wednesday (nearly a fortnight now) and tributes were paid to him across the East African nations, including from the African continent leaders.

He died of “heart complications” according to the then vice president and current president Her H.E Samia Suluhu Hassan who made the announcement in a televised address.

Uganda’s president, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was among East [African] heads of states to eulogize Magufuli, describing the late as a “pragmatic leader”.

On Friday, Tanzania’s Government spokesperson, Mr Hassan Abbas confirmed that president Museveni would be present to see off fallen leader.

Her H.E Samia Suluhu Hassan was sworn in on Friday as the country’s first female president, two days after the death of Magufuli.
