Indian Prime Minister on Thursday afternoon spoke on phone with Ugandan leader – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
In his tweet, he said: “Spoke on phone to President Yoweri Museveni about the chllanges arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic. India will support, in every way it can, Uganda’s efforts to control the spread of the virus.”
On Wednesday, Uganda’s COVID-19 total cases climbed to 53, from 52.
As reported by Business Standard, India had 5,916 coronavirus cases and 178 deaths from the disease till Thursday noon, as the country’s central bank “drastically altered” its outlook for the economy.
The same publication reported
that Odisha became the first state to extend the lockdown in
the state till April 30, adding to the buzz that India won’t be opened up fully
as scheduled on April 14.
According to Worldometer, globally, the death toll surpassed 88,965 and the number of infections crossed 1,524,833.
