Gulu: Pece division chairperson charged with theft, assault

The Pece Division chairperson was on Wednesday released by Gulu Court on bail.

This was after being charged with three counts of theft, causing grave harm and assault.

He appeared before Chief Magistrate Francis Dawa Matenga.

Mr. Kelly Komakech (suspect) is accused of stealing motor vehicle with engine registration number UG 00090 – 3134347 on 21/7/2019 from the division parking yard.

And on 30/1/2019, he was also accused of causing grave harm on a man only identified as Namafad along Gulu- Kampala highway.

Early this year, on 30/1/2019 Mr. Komakech and one identified as Ojwir David were jointly accused of assualting one identified as Opiyo Walter along the same street.

On Wednesday, they were both released by Court on a non cash bail of shillings 500,000 and their sureties on shillings 10 million each, also non cash.

They are both to reappear before the same Court on 16/8/2019 to respond to the counts lodged againest them.
