Aloyo Jennifer – 18, who was a former primary seven pupil of Pandwong primary school in Kitgum municipality has been beaten to death by mob.
She was suspected to have stolen bedsheet from a home of one Oryang Ojuma.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa regional police spokesperson confirmed the incident to our reporter on Thursday.
“The mob descended on her, beat her and later she died,” Okema said.
He added that police have arrested one person (whom they have not revealed his identity) to help with the investigation into the matter.
The criminal case has been registered at Kitgum Central Police Station under SD REF:16/03/04/19 as the deceased body was taken to Kitgum hospital mortuary for postmortem.
According to Okema, the deceased is a daughter to Corporal Acaye Richard of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).
