Pakwach – The Nebbi district LC5 chairperson is dead. He passed on Tuesday morning from Mulago national hospital where he was taken for specialized medical treatment after involvement in a road accident last week, Friday.
Mr William Alenyo’s death was announced by one of his sons, George William Alenyo who spoke to this news website Tuesday afternoon.
Deceased son says his father will be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Pokwero, Pakwach district on Saturday.
On Friday, Mr William Alenyo, in the company of his wife and being driven in his official vehicle registration number UG 3320R had an accident at Ragem parish, Wadelai sub-county in Pakwach district.
Authorities say he was from ‘inspecting’ primary schools in Kacwiny sub-county in Nebbi district.
Pakwach district police commander, Mr Frank Muzoora said the chairman was rushing to inspect another school when the accident happened.
The slain district chairman, Alenyo initially complained of chest pain when he was first admitted at Ragem health centre II before he was picked by an ambulance to Nebbi general hospital.
Mr Muzoora attributed the accident to reckless driving and over speeding, he confirmed that the driver was temporarily detained at Pakwach police station but was later transferred to Nebbi Police Station for further management.
According to Dr Justine Okwairwoth, the Nebbi hospital Medical Superintendent, Mr Alenyo’s conditions couldn’t be managed from Nebbi referral hospital as he needed specialized medical care.
Soon, he was referred to Mulago national hospital in Kampala for specialized medical treatment from where he died from this Tuesday morning.
