33 police personnel in Pader yet to receive salary 

 “The issue of the SPCs salaries will be handled at a regional management meeting which will take place on Monday (today), 31st May 2021,” says Aswa River Regional Police Spokesperson, David Ongom Mudong.

 Pader – 31, May 2021: A total of 33 Special Police Constables (SPCs) in Pader district were discharged from the police force without their payment for the month of March 2021. Their total pay is UGX12, 375,000.

They were not among their colleagues who were paid on Monday, 24th May 2021.

The recruits were trained and given a three-month contract.  Each constable was entitled to a monthly salary of shs375, 000.

Tai Ramadhan, the Pader district police commander (DPC) says the 33 police constables missed being paid because their documentations had errors in regards to their names on the national identification (ID cards) and education credentials.

Tai adds that if they fail to submit in all the government stores, they risk being jailed.

A total of 258 police constables were cleared out of 291 in the district. One of the affected personnel on condition of anonymity says he was not paid his salary for March without any clear explanation.

He further adds that he was told his names had errors, and thus resulting into missing his salary.

David Mudong Ongom, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson acknowledged the issue concerning the missing salaries.
