Kasese | Preliminary information indicates an incident where an estimated 5 armed ADF elements ambushed a Trailer at 1:00 a.m.
The trailer which was carrying Onions from Kisoro to Mpondwe Lhubiriha Border was burnt. This happened at Katojo Junction along Bwera- Kinyamaseke – Kasese Road in Kasese District.
The trailer had 04 occupants: One man was shot dead.
Another man was seriously injured and has been taken to Bwera Hospital.
One woman survived uninjured and another man not yet seen.
A group of UPDF battalion from 5 Division are hunting for the ADF attackers, according to Col Deo Akiiki, Deputy Defence Spokesperson.

The fourth person in the same Lorry who was earlier reported to be missing was burnt in the vehicle beyond recognition. She was identified as Clarisa Nzoghera, a resident of Nyakahya Cell.
The victims were travelling in a motor vehicle Benz (box body) trailer Reg No. UBM 624L when the incident took place in Katholhu village of Nyakiyumbu sub-county in Kasese district about 10 kilometres from the Mpondwe-Congo borderline.
The driver the armed men shot dead was Matovu Joseph aged 38 and a female passenger who got burnt to ashes.
Injured was a turman, Magyezi Assyline Munezera, 28, a resident of Kanaba in Kisoro district
Another passenger, Biira Edreda, aged 37 a resident of Kikongo cell in Rugendabara-Kikongo Town council in Kasese district was injured.
The scene of the crime was being managed by Police as UPDF continued to pursue the suspected ADF bandits, according to Col Deo Akiiki.
Recently, President Museveni said ADF rebels were no more, vowing to defeat criminal elements trying to provoke Uganda.
