Dokolo FDC leader endorses UPC candidate

Dokolo | UPC candidate Sarah Aguti Nyangkori on Saturday received an endorsement from the FDC branch chairperson.

Ekuju James who is the LC1 chairperson of Igar Village, claimed that while she was still alive, the then women MP of Dokolo district, Cecilia Atim Ogwal told them to vote Nyangkori once she retired from politics.

“The late Cecilia Ogwal told us that when she ever retires from politics, we should support Sarah Aguti of UPC who never abused her as a competitor at any point,” Ekuju said.

“So, Sarah is our daughter and sister who stays in Dokolo. We’re sending her to Parliament,” he added.

Almost two years ago, the late veteran politician said she would not seek reelection in 2026. Unfortunately, she passed on aged 77 on January 18, 2024.

Like Aguti, Cecilia’s daughter, Dr Rosemary Alwoc Ogwal is in the race to replace the deceased senior politician.

The electoral commission has scheduled March 21 for the election of her successor.
