Kampala I Uganda is hosting the Non-aligned Movement (NAM) summit at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kampala. The week-long event has attracted dozens of leaders from countries under NAM.

Uganda was chosen as the host of the 19th summit, also taking over chairmanship from Jeyhun Aziz Ogu, foreign minister of Azerbaijan.

After assuming the seat, President Museveni spoke, as usual, issuing warnings to countries taken as “superior”.

“The oppressors, miscalculate when they use their temporary advantage in science and technology to think that they can use that to indefinately oppress other people. The oppress will learn, catch and defeat the oppressor..

“..our stand is that the World should concentrate on the common human problems – prosperity through trade, the advance of science and technology to deal with human problems, the environment, crime and terrorism,” said new NAM chair, Museveni.
