Bunyangabu |On December 30, 2023, at around 7 am, a bomb was found at the petrol station in Kadindimo trading centre, Kadindimo parish, Rwimi sub-county.

The targeted place is in Bunyangabu district, Western Uganda.

Col. Deo Akiiki, the deputy defence spokesperson confirmed the development on Saturday afternoon.

Per Akiiki, the bomb was put in the trench a round six meters away from the fuel pump.

“Police and the army are on the ground to handle the situation,” added Col. Akiiki.

“…. let’s be very vigilant as the situation is not good in our areas of operation,” he added.

The situation, he revealed, was handled by UPDF technical experts from Kavera Hima Barack.

Some parts of Western Uganda have come under threat in recent times following a series of rebel attacks in districts like Kasese and Kamwenge.

Amid improved security, ADF rebels continue to find easy access to the community leading to the loss of lives and destruction of properties.

Recruitment of Local Defence Personnel (LDPs) is underway to help UPDF and Police deal with terror threats posed by rebels in the region.
