Mbarara I Uganda’s popular and traditional secondary school, Ntare, has suspended all senior six students.
According to a circular to the parents, the suspension is indefinite. Rwampororo Saui, the school headmaster wrote:
“The school management has today, 03rd October, 2023 decided to indefinitely suspend the entire senior six because last night they exhibited a high degree of indiscipline – they deliberately destroyed school property including the recently installed CCTV cameras around the school.
“The Board of Governors will subsequently sit to assess the damage and chart the way forward.”
The suspension means the affected students will not sit their final exams expected to start in not more than 80 days
Ntare school is one of the traditional secondary schools in Uganda and has produced several politicians, among them now President Yoweri Museveni, Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda.
Veteran politician Tarsis Kabwegyere also went to Ntare.
