Kampala I Police at Kitintale Police Station (KPS) has started a search on a criminal duo following a road theft that happened in Mutungo, a Kampala suburb on Wednesday morning.
It is reported that at about 6:47 am on Wednesday, two men on a numberless motorcycle grabbed a shoulder bag containing valuables of Milton Emmy Akwam, an editorial head with TND News.
The incident happened approximately 10 meters after Radio Maria in Mutungo, Kampala City.
Akwam said he was robbed of his HP laptop, plus its charger; Ugandan Passport and other items as he proceeded to an event in Katabi, Entebbe.
“I had left for Katabi, Entebbe for an event I was invited to attend and was starting at 9:30 am,” the publication’s editor added.
Akwam had earlier posted the incident on his Twitter handle saying, “A few mins past 6:47 am, two men on a no…less bodaboda grabbed my shoulder (laptop) bag, approx 10 mtr after Radio Maria……. ”
A case of theft was recorded at Kitintale Police Station under SD Ref: 11/26/07/2023.
According to Sadati Maganda, one of the police officers handling the case, the two unidentified men took advantage of the time the victim was on the road to plan for their move.

“We now have to review the CCTV footage and make sure we get to know them as part of our investigations,” he added.
In the past, criminal groups have been targeting pedestrians and motorists during traffic jam hours in the evening after 7 pm and in the morning between 4 am and 6.30 am on the Northern Bypass, Industrial Area and on recently tarmacked roads such as in Kira Municipality, where Police CCTV cameras were not yet installed.
