Namutumba, May 1, 2023: Namutumba district is hosting the Labour Day for Uganda. The theme is promoting positive work culture and ethics.

In his address (still ongoing), President Museveni is optimistic that Uganda can create 70 million jobs, more than the country’s population – of more than 45 million people.

To Museveni, if we fully implement agriculture, without corruption, jobs can be created. Through PDM, Uganda can create about 70 million jobs. “That means PDM must move very fast and correctly,” he said.

Corrupt politicians and some civil servants, he said are the ones interfering with “your future”.

“We are going to have a big fight. I’m going to set up another small unit in my office where the investors can ring directly if anybody asks them for a bribe or delay a decision,” said Museveni.

“There are some groups in URA who go and intercepts goods of these traders and say ‘I will charge you so much but if you give me a bribe I will charge less’” – he revealed.

Tough speaking Museveni said he already has a report, adding that, “You will hear about what will happen.” The President tells the parasites and unpatriotic Ugandans to stop before he collides with them – soon.

Mr Museveni says Uganda is so rich when it comes to materials to develop its model, adding that costs of living are much different from other countries.

“You wake up and eat millet, cassava. Millet is the best food in the world.” He asks nobody to compare Uganda with Germany which has no millet.
