Tributes as journalist Edward Muhumuza dies in car crash

Muhumuza died aged 32 on Saturday at around 8:20am along Kampala-Entebbe express highway.

The sudden death of NTV Uganda journalist Edward Muhumuza who died on spot in a car crash Saturday morning on Entebbe Expressway has left ‘many speechless’.

According to an official statement by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Traffic and Road Safety Directorate at the Uganda Police Force ASP, Faridah Nampiima said the crash happened at around 8:20 am at the Mpala road toll on the Kampala-Entebbe expressway.

According to Nampiima, Edward was driving to Entebbe via Entebbe Expressway and was about to exit at the Mpala toll station. From there, he suddenly lost control and swerved off the main road.

Nampiima attributed the death to overspending. Muhumuza died aged 32.

Rita Kanya, news anchor at NTV Uganda wrote: “Edward a man that followed his routine to the dot. So disciplined and set in his ways. His humor was something else. A light from the newsroom is gone. Rest in Peace Muramu.”
