Three days later, Pakwach will again celebrate Liberation Day (belated) on February 9.

According to the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Pakwach Paul Eseru, two key events will take place next week.

In his letter dated February 4 to TND News, Eseru says his office informs the general public that the district will host two events this coming week.

The events are Tarehe Sita celebrations that will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023.

According to his letter, the UPDF and Uganda Police Force will carry out cleaning activities in Health Centre 4, the parking yard and the main market.

Liberation Day celebrations (belated) will be held on February 9, 2023, in Dei Sub-county.

“This will be a mother of all celebrations that will be preceded by a superlative parade,” RDC Esuru told this digital newspaper.

“We call upon all members of Pakwach and the public, in general, to actively participate in both events,” he wrote.

The business community, the banking fraternity; corporate companies and organizations, he said “are all welcome”.

Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Rweshande, the Chief of Civil-Military Cooperation, as quoted by The Independent Magazine, said that Tarehe Sita celebrations will take place in Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara city unlike in the past where they have been celebrated inside Makenke Barracks.

The celebration will be held under the theme: “Recognising the Sacrifice of the founders of the Peoples Revolution for social economic transformation.”
