Bishop Nasak ordains 3 deacons

Bishop James Nasak is concluding his tour of duty as he retires later this year.


Abim – December 15, 2022: Bishop James Nasak has ordained three deacons to the office of priesthood and commissioned other four lay readers as he concludes his tour of duty ahead of his retirement on December 27, 2022. 

Rt. Rev James Nasak, the Bishop of Church of Uganda-North Karamoja Diocese was in Abim where he ordained three deacons to serve in the North Karamoja Diocese.

The four lay readers will serve in Lotuke and Adea archdeaconries, respectively.

This holy event took place in Adea archdeaconry, Abim district on December 11, 2022 and was attended by the clergy from different archdeaconries of Abim and the diocesan secretary.

The ordained priests included Rev. Charles Odeke, Rev. John Walter Aboo and Rev. Isaac Okello.

Meanwhile, the commissioned lay readers include Mr. Okerede Kokas, Mr. Charles Ejoku, Mr. Ebiru Julius and Mr. Eweou Moses.

The candidates were first examined by the archdeacon of Lotukei archdeaconry, Venerable Reverend Canon Nelson Owilli before presenting them to the Bishop for ordination and commissioning.

After the commissioning and ordination, Bishop James Nasak appealed to the congregation to be supportive to the new clergy.

He also cautioned the newly ordained and commissioned clergy against working in isolation, encouraging them to work closely with their archdeacons.

Nasak is retiring and handing over office to the Archbishop on December 27, 2022 and arrangements for his handover are already under way.
