Kole boy, 16, defiled by married woman, 20: his hut set ablaze

The woman’s husband is suspected to have set the boy’s hut on fire.

Kole – October 25, 2022: Police at Alemi Outpost in Ayer sub-county, Kole district have started investigating an arson incident at Aeronyero village, Abur parish. 

The incident happened on Sunday, October 23, 2022, in the evening.

The hut that was set ablaze, TND News understands belong to a 16-year-old boy who was on Saturday, October 12, defiled by Fionah Apio.

Apio is a married woman in her late 20s. She is a resident of Aeronyero village, Kole.

She allegedly visited his side chick [the teenage boy] with cooked fish, a bottle of beer; two bottles of soda and shs20, 000. The items, she said were to lure the boy.

However, her husband, Denis Ouni then called the Officer In-charge of Alemi Police Outpost, Stella Lamunu to the scene of the crime. 

She was picked up and taken to Alemi Outpost for questioning.

According to the minor, they were on Saturday evening released from Alemi Outpost verbally without a written Police bond. The Police, however, recorded statements from the complainant and the suspect.

He [the minor] added that Ouni while at Alemi Outpost was publically announcing to kidnap him or set ablaze his hut.

Jimmy Odur, the LC1 Chairperson of Aeronyero village says the minor reported to him about the incident and the following day he took him to Alemi Outpost for opening up a case file.

A police officer at Alemi Outpost who asked for anonymity confirmed that they are investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.

According to the officer, a case has been registered under SD REF 07/24/10/2022.

One of the local human rights defenders in the area, whose name cannot be revealed, for now, says everyone is questioning why the arson happened just one night after the release of the minor.

The right defender further says that all is being done to ensure the boy gets justice.
