Buluge Comp. SSS champions of Lira city post-primary schools competition 2022

Buluge won the trophy after beating King James on penalties after drawing 2-2 at full time.

Lira – April 4, 2022: The Executive Director of Buluge Comprehensive senior secondary school Richard Okulu has promised cash prizes to school teams in the forthcoming regional competitions due this week.

 

While making his remarks during the celebration on Sunday, Okulu promised boys and girls one million shillings each if they win the regional competition after being named champions in the just concluded post-primary tournament.

 

The director also informed the teams that there will be one hundred thousand shillings (shs100, 000) each time they win a game in the next competition.

 

Buluge comprehensive senior secondary school is the first school to win the Lira city post-primary-secondary school trophy since its elevation from municipality to city status in 2020.

 

The team won the trophy after beating King James on penalties after drawing 2-2 at full time.

 

They first drew 1-1 with Mentor SS in the semi-finals but managed Mentor when penalties got them through to the finals.

Jacob Elab, the team captain who saved penalties in the finals said, “It’s through God’s intervention that everything was possible.” And he is hopeful that the team will excel in the regional tournament.

 

Silvano Omara from Buluge comprehensive was the best player in the tournament during the post-primary competition.
