
Pader farmers intend to hire out tractors to generate more money.

Pader – February 23, 2022: Pader district lead farmer groups were on Tuesday given two-wheeled tractors to enhance their productivity.
The donation is part of the project for the Restoration of Livelihoods in Northern Uganda Region (PRELNOR).
PRELNOR is one of the government projects being implemented in the three sub-counties of Latanya, Awere and Atanga in Pader district.
Saidu Adola Tona is the PRELNOR Focal Point Person of Pader district. He confirmed that at least two farmers from two groups in each sub-county received the farming equipment.
Saidu noted that the lead farmers selected by fellow group members will first go through training on how to operate the tractors.
He assured members that more farming equipment including trailers to help in the transportation of agricultural products, and seeds will be delivered at a later time.
The farmer groups that benefited from the two-wheeled tractors in the three sub-counties include Genmunu, Rubanga-twero, Gwok-kic, Oryem can, Tek-tic and Rubanga-tek.
Tito Omony, one of the group members from Oryemcan Latanya East, Golo parish said the donation will improve crop yields and save time with transportation.
Mangret Acan and Santa Adyero, both group members expressed their happiness and are hopeful that the money which shall be generated from hiring the tractors can improve the lives of their members.
