Pader parents dispel drunk teacher who attempted to pass away by fire

Pader – February 12, 2022: Locals and parents in Puranga sub-county, Pader district on Friday, February 11, 2022, forcefully evicted a teacher who had tried to die by suicide. They also accused him of misconduct after he burnt his owned house.

The expelled teacher, TND News has learned was a drunkard. 

Basilio Olara (teacher) left Odum primary school after the locals and parents wanted him no more.

Jimmy Alito, a resident of Puranga sub-county said, “Olara always go to teach while drunk.” “Olara, today February 11, 2022, burned his hut and was forcefully pulled out of the burning house by some locals,” he added.

Thomas Omara is the chairperson school management committee of Odum primary school. “Olara has been in Odum for two years since he was posted there.” 

“He likes absenteeism and has been reported to district education officials several times on similar issues,” he added. 

Lam Komakech David, Pader district education secretary condemned Olara’s act, adding, “It’s uncalled for since the law does not allow such practices in the learning institutions.”

“I handled similar issues on Olara in my office, and I had promised to hold a meeting with the parents of Odum over the issue.”
