Must stop! Today, globally, there are over eight human right issues.
Kampala – January 31, 2022: The United Nation (UN) Secretary-General has called for the global fight against human rights abuse in his latest message.
Antonio Guterres says the world must restore human dignity and human decency in 2022 going forward.
“We must restore human dignity & human decency. We must prevent the death of truth,” UN chief says.
He also said, “We must make lying wrong again.”
With Covid-19 now a serious global issue, Antonio wants solidarity to solve global challenges like Covid-19 and the climate crisis.
Standing Up for human rights he says, should be among the top agenda from 2022.
Today, globally, there are over eight human right issues. These are: gender equality, workers’ rights, refrugee crisis, human trafficking, attack on journalists and the spread of misinformation.
In Uganda, human right issues include unlawful or arbitrary killings, kidnapp, torture; censorship, political prisoners, among others.
