Simon Lokodo became known for condemning homosexuality and pornography.
Kampala – January 29, 2022: Former Ethics and Integrity Minister Fr. Simon Lokodo is dead. The former Dodoth County MP in Kaabong district’s death was announced by the Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) on Saturday afternoon.
“It’s with great shock and pain that we’ve learnt of the passing of our Honourable Member of the Commission, Fr. Simon Lokodo. He passed on this morning in Geneva Switzerland. The Commission will share details in due course…” UHRC announced on Twitter.
Lokodo was appointed Minister of State for Ethics and Integrity in the Office of the President in 2011 and became known for condemning homosexuality and pornography.
He died aged 64.
Lokodo is another high-profile Ugandan to die in January after former Governor Bank of Uganda Prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile.
