Oyam – January 28, 2022: The family of the former MP of Oyam South said they are now living in panic after waking up to seeing a box dropped at home.

On Thursday, January 27 2022, the wife of Ishaa Otto Amiza said she woke up and found ‘a big box’ placed on top of a culvert in their compound.

She then alerted the husband who later contacted the police.

According to Otto, in an interview, the police rushed to the scene, opened the box and found bottles in a seal-leveled box, and took it away. The motive and intention of the whole situation until now is unclear.

“This incident is really putting my family at tension, I am trying to think it is linked to the demonstration that I organized concerning Lira Kamdini Road, but this was not done for any selfish motive, it was for a common good. I have not done any harm,” Otto stated.

Speaking to the North Kyoga Regional Police spokesperson ASP Patrick Jimmy Okema to ascertain the situation, he confirmed the incident and appealed to whoever is having a clue to alert the police.

“It is true, an incident like that happened and police is trying to investigate who could have taken the 24 acid bottles to Otto Ishaa’s home,” Okema said.

Okema also confirmed that the police picked up the box containing the acid bottles. “We still don’t understand the motives of the culprits,” he told TND News.

“As police, we will do a thorough investigation including taking the acid to the laboratory for further analysis.”

“We shall not just investigate but go deeper into analyzing the situation,” Okema made a commitment.

Otto was arrested last week after he had urged the people of Lango to come up in big numbers and protest against NRM government for refusing to tarmac Lira-Kamdini lethal road.
