Apac municipality in panic as unknown men frighten residents

Apac district and municipality NRM party members have been asked to cooperate.

Apac – January 26, 2022: Residents of Apac municipality are in great shock after unknown criminals continue to frighten them.

On January 22, 2022, a one Mike Achot, 23; resident of Bar-owelo village in Apac municipality was waylaid at 11:00 pm as he moved to pick up a friend from town.

While on his red coloured motorcycle of Reg. No. UEO (numbers unidentified) Achot was trapped with a rope and left unconscious.

An eyewitness believed that it was intended towards laying him down.

Gustavio Adur is a secretary in the office of the clan chief (Awitong) of Oyimangila. In an interview, he said the death was “planned for ill intentions”.

The deceased, according to Gustavio Adur was brutalized, pierced with machetes and his attackers placed nails on his head.

Achot was rushed to Nightingale Hospital for medical attention who soon transferred him to Mbale Hospital.

From Mable, he was transferred to Mulago National Referral Hospital but breathed his last before arriving

On January 24, 2022, another man escaped a similar trap at the same ‘black spot’ found in Akar cell, Atik division, Apac municipality.

He was returning to his home from town.

An effort to get more information from the DPC Apac, Jessica Nawe has been futile.

Lawrence Okello is the NRM party mobiliser in Apac. In his latest communication, he has asked all NRM members both in Apac district and municipality to cooperate.

He added that all burial programs are on the NRM party.
