Arsenal heads to Norwich hoping to extend momentum

Arsenal will be hoping to extend their fine run of form when they take on Norwich on Boxing Day.

Boxing Day, 26 December 2021: The Gunners are in excellent form and find themselves in the top four while they also earned a semi-final spot in the Carabao Cup with their victory over Sunderland in midweek.

For Norwich, there’s a real need to start picking up results on a consistent basis.

While only three points from safety, Dean Smith will be determined to put a positive run of form together to give them the best possible chance of avoiding the drop.

This match is currently set to go ahead as planned despite the raft of games called off due to Covid in England.

Arsenal would strengthen their top-four hopes with a victory over the Canaries.

Norwich are again dealing with coronavirus concerns ahead of the visit of Arsenal on Boxing Day.

The club saw their previous game at West Ham called off because of depleted numbers.

Milot Rashica is not yet back in contention, while Mathias Normann is set for an extended spell on the sidelines following pelvic surgery.

Grant Hanley, Christoph Zimmermann and Andrew Omobamidele are all still out.

Arsenal are expected to be without Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for a fifth consecutive match following his recent internal disciplinary action.

The forward has already been stripped of the captaincy and boss Mikel Arteta was non-committal when asked about the availability of the Gabon ace on Wednesday.

Sead Kolasinac is also absent for the Gunners while Pablo Mari, Calum Chambers and Albert Sambi Lokonga have all tested positive for Covid-19 in recent days.
