Pader- 4, November 2021: Pader district Covid-19 taskforce have received another batch of Covid-19 vaccines from the National Medical Stores (NMS).
The consignment arrived on Tuesday this week. The taskforce received 6480 doses of Pfizer, 2310 doses of Moderna and 1390 doses of Sinovac.
Anna Apio is the acting assistant district health officer, Pader who confirmed receipt during a telephone interview on Tuesday afternoon.
“The vaccines will be taken to the designated health facilities starting Wednesday 3, November 2021,” she added.
Apio outlined some of the health facilities where the vaccine will be distributed and these includes all H/C IVs and H/CIIIs adding there is a plan to extend it to some H/CIIs that have freezers in good working conditions
She revealed the plan of designating some H/CIIs is to reduce on the challenge of long distances now discouraging people from accessing the vaccines.
Pader district has never registered expired vaccines, she adds. “There is always demand for more following positive response by the community members who visit facilities to receive vaccines.”
Justine Ocen is the Vice LC5 chairperson Pader who doubles as secretary of heath advised people to use the availability of the vaccine and get the jabs.
