Kampala – 15, September 2021: Death is robbing Uganda of her citizens daily; both young and old ones are succumbing to different illnesses.
Last week and early this week, Ugandans received news about the death of Archbishop of the Orthodox Church, Jonah Lwanga.
Days later, the death of country’s top tycoon, Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige (BMK) was another sad one.
Another death Tuesday occurred of Juliet Ebil. Until her death, she was working with Facilitation for Peace and Development (FAFAD).
Addressing the media Wednesday, Jimmy Akena led UPC party in mourning the above persons.
“On a sad note, I send our sincere condolences to the family and Orthodox Church for the loss of Archbishop Yonah Lwanga who recently died in Greece. Archbishop Lwanga was not only instrumental in religious work, but he also stood out clearly on issues of human rights and democracy whenever the need arose!”
In another development, he adds, “Uganda lost one of the most refined businessman/entrepreneur Hajji Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige popularly known as BMK who was laid to rest last week on Sunday 12th September 2021.”
“BMK owned a large business empire within East and Central Africa thus offering job opportunities as well as good services to both the people and the country.”
“On the same note, Uganda Peoples Congress wishes to inform all Party members and the general public that the Party Secretary General Hon. Fred Ebil lost his sister Juliet Ebil on Tuesday 14th September 2021 at Lira Regional Referral Hospital. The late comrade Juliet has been a human rights defender working with Facilitation for Peace and Development (FAPAD) – non-profit organization, based Lira as Programme Manager at the time of her death!”
According to Akena, Juliet will be laid to rest on Saturday 18th September 2021 at Aputi village, Abeli parish, Akalo Sub-county, Kole district.
“We pray to the Almighty God to strengthen the family to go through this most difficult and trying moment!”
