Tomorrow, Friday is a public holiday

Lira – 24, June 2021: President Kaguta Museveni has declared tomorrow, Friday June 25, 2021 a public holiday.

The 4th National Prayer Session for interdenominational prayers will also be held as Covid-19 trounces the population.

The prayers will be held virtually with only few people convening at State House.

Last week on Friday, Gen. Museveni announced 42 days of lockdown in a bid to fight Covid-19 in the country.

During this period of lockdown, houses of worships, schools, and non essential companies have closed.

According to Dr Henry G. Mwebesa, the Director General Health Services  who spoke to the country on Thursday morning, at least 40 districts have test positivity rate above 10%. This is very worrying.

Kampala, Wakiso, Jinja, Gulu, Mpigi are among the districts with high rate of infections.

Covid-19 has claimed 752 lives, infected 74,260 people; and 834,271 have so far received their jabs.
