Grace Freedom Kwiyucwiny has been retained as State Minister for Northern Uganda in the Office of the Prime Minister. She is the former Woman MP, Zombo district.
Lira—9, June 2021: President Museveni on Tuesday night formed his new cabinet for 2021-2026. The list comprises fresh faces and old—including surprises.
Gen. Museveni had to keep Ugandans waiting for nearly three months to announce his new aides (ministers and senior advisors) to help him in “securing the future of Ugandans”.
The NRM party national chairman, Gen. Museveni, used “securing your future” as his main slogan during 2020-2021 presidential campaigns.
The electoral commission (EC would later announce him the winner of the January 14, 2021 presidential elections on 16, January) with over 56 percent. His main challenger, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine, came second with 38 percent.
In the Museveni’s new cabinet, Lango’s sons and two daughters have been retained. Denis Hamson Obua (MP, Ajuri County) has been retained as State Minister for Sports in the Ministry of Education and Sports, Betty Amongi Ongom (MP, Oyam South) appointed the Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development (from Kampala and Metropolitan Affairs), Charles Okello Engola (MP, Oyam North) was moved to the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (Employment and Industrial Relations), and Dr Jane Ruth Aceng (Lira City Woman MP) has been retained as Minister of Health.
