Their state of disrepair, however, according to the Legislator, requires extensive rehabilitation, which the district resource envelope currently cannot afford, hence causing central government intervention.

Kole—3, June 2021: On Wednesday, 2, June 2021, Kole North MP, Dr. Opio Samuel Acuti paid a courtesy call to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah.

The two legislators discussed key issues affecting the people of Kole North and, to some extent Lango sub-region in general. Dr. Opio was elected on January 14, 2021 on Independent ticket.

“Among the pertinent issues I raised were the roads in Kole in which i Chair the Kole District roads Committee. I highlighted the great North road from Corner Ayer in Kole South to Bobi through corner Aboke in Kole North, in which the road designs were now complete but funding needed to have it tarmacked,” he said.

“I further raised issues on key roads in Kole South and Kole North including Teboke trading centre to Ogur through Corner Ayer, Aboke Market, Anekapiri and Alito trading centre, Teboke (Agong village) to Lira border through Bala trading centre and Ngetta to Aromo through Alito trading centre.”

These roads, he says, “are critical trading routes and arteries that link Kole district to various other districts but at the same time facilitating the flow of agricultural commodities from Kole’s womb to the marketplace”.

Their state of disrepair, however, according to the Legislator, requires extensive rehabilitation, which the district resource envelope currently cannot afford, hence causing central government intervention.

MP Acuti says he also “provided useful insights and suggestions on how to address these challenges”.

“… we agreed on further engagements towards this. Last, I conveyed to him warm greetings from the lovely people of Kole North and their congratulatory messages to him of which he gladly received.”
