The LEA 2020 was dubebd the ‘Lockdown Edition’ during its official launch in 2020 as a result of Covid-19 pandemic and surge.
Lira – 8, February 2021: Lango Entertainment Awards (LEA) has announced holding the 2021 awards virtually due to Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions.
In her press statement shared via different social media platforms Monday afternoon, the management announced that “we’d like to extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who has supported us in various ways since the official launch of #LEA20.”
“A lot has since happened. We released the official list of nominees and voting has been on going,” the statement further reads.
On why they will hold 2020 awards virtually, the management revealed that “we tried to engage with the security in order to see ways of holding an event; however small it would be, but we failed due the current situation of COVID-19.”

“We have however resolved to hold the award ceremony on air and online.”
As per their statement, the official award ceremony takes place on Saturday 13.02.2021 at 8pm. The event will be live on various social media platform including their official Facebook page and on radio 97.7 Unity FM in Lira City.
Some of the nominees are Profesa Maros, Queen of the North aka Akira, Okeng Born Town, Sam Aliga, Maureen Odota, among others.
