Omoro: Construction of a new water project starts

Omoro—29, November 2020: The construction of a water project worth millions of shillings has started in Akidi sub-county Omoro district.

The water project was approved by the Omoro district council in their financial year for 2019/2020.

Mr Damasco Odongo, the Omoro district council speaker, said the aim of the water project as was approved last year by district is to address the acute water shortage in the nearby public places.

He mentioned places like Awoo Health Center II, Awoo Primary School, Lakwana Seed Senior Secondary School, Parak Primary School, Omoro town Council, and market places, among others.

The Omoro LC5 chairperson, Douglas Peter Okello Okao, has revealed that the project would give a paramount help to the community around because it will reduce water shortage in Akidi sub-county.

Mr Okao urged the community to take proper maintenance of the water project because Omoro district local government will soon commission the project for mass consumption.

The contract for the project was awarded to DAVIS Construction Limited for undisclosed amount.
