TND News has exclusively learnt that both DPC and OC were prior instructed by their boss – the North Kyoga Regional Police commander, Peter Nkulega to intervene over the land saga before it could end lives.
Yesterday [Tuesday], there were different reports that the pair were not arrested but only invited to North Kyoga Region Police Headquarters in Erute to explain “why they did not save lives” yet they were duly instructed.
However, this publication learnt that it was a “real arrest” executed by a team of detectives from regional police headquarters. On arrival they were interrogated for the offences each tagged with.
Michael Odongo, the North Kyoga Region Police Spokesperson confirmed the arrest to our Lira based Reporter.
“The two Police officers are being detained at Lira Central Police Station after Regional Police Commander found that they neglected their duties,” Police spokesperson said.
According to Mr Odongo, the two police officers did not reached in time as was instructed by their superior.
