Authorities of Wadelai sub-county in Pakwach district have asked communities of Ragem East Parish to work hand in hand with the investors for better development.
Wadelai LC3 chairperson, Mr. Richard Ocan Veve, explained that, “some people who have over four acres of land near the multi-billion Irrigation Scheme Project and are unable to use the plots profitably should lend them to the investors who have the man power to develop it so that they equally benefit rather than leaving the land unused”.
Ocean’s statement came just within three days after carrying out the first joined monitoring of the Irrigation Scheme Project at a site in Ayavu village in Ragem East in Wadelai sub-county.
According to the LC3 chairperson, the officials of MS COIL COMPANY LIMITED who have been awarded the contract is in advanced stage of their work with Primary, Secondary and Main Canal have already been created, as well as constructions of the community access roads leading to the site and from different the area.
Also, Ragem East parish LC2 chairperson, Mr. Milton Orach, welcomed the idea, adding that, “locals should be cooperative since 60% of the workers both casual and will come from the surrounding areas.”
Orach further revealed that they have completed the final verification of the people whose land are affected by the project.
